530 open items counted every open checkbox in .planning/CAPTURE.md, including the 185-item block v2.6.0 phase 1 retired on 2026-08-08. Those stay open only because nothing rewrites an archived line; they are not work.

The live queue is 197: 196 under ## Todos plus one seed. Section totals reconcile against the file - 196 + 1 + 185 = 382 open, 2 + 1 + 144 = 147 closed.

`530 open items` counted every open checkbox in `.planning/CAPTURE.md`, including the 185-item block `v2.6.0` phase 1 retired on 2026-08-08.
